Support our Work
The Sleep Apnœa Trust exists to improve the lives of sleep apnoea patients, their partners and their families and is managed mainly by unpaid volunteers. We achieve this through several main activities,
- Pressure group lobbying for improved UK Healthcare support for sleep apnoea patients
- Raising awareness of Sleep Apnoea and its effects
- Assisting research into Sleep Apnoea
- Providing and running telephone/email help lines to support patients
We produce and distribute a range of informative leaflets and run this website to achieve our educational goals. We are active in monitoring the provision of sleep apnoea treatment according the NICE guidelines and communicate this to the relevant authorities. We raise awareness by producing a regular newsletter, assisting research, holding an annual conference, giving talks, assisting the media and working with like-minded charities. Our help lines, working in partnership with the Scottish Association for Sleep Apnoea, are manned by volunteer patients who offer friendly and confidential advice on practical matters and are ready to help anyone worried about Sleep Apnoea.
Most importantly of all the Sleep Apnoea Trust is a patient support charity run by patients. Please help us continue to achieve our good work by donating, becoming a member or fundraising for us.
